What is Hopnic Laboratory?
Work at Hopnic Laboratory
Taping that affects the quality of lenses
The process of taping glass molds, which serve as the base shape for the lenses. Depending on the lens being produced, a film may be inserted between them. This step is crucial to the accuracy of the lenses, so it is important to ensure precision and prevent contamination by impurities.
Polymerization and demolding for a distortion-free finish
This process involves curing the resin material poured into glass molds through a chemical reaction and heating, followed by removing it from the molds. To achieve a distortion-free finish, materials require precise temperature control over a long period, ranging from 16 to 72 hours. The hardened lenses are then removed from the molds and gradually cooled.
Spin coating that applies a special coating to the lens surface
This is a proprietary process we developed for applying a special coating to the lens surface. Because the coating can be applied to only one side of the lens, it allows for the production of thinner and lighter lenses.
Hard coating to enhance the surface strength of the lenses
This process involves applying a coating to both sides of the lenses to prevent scratches during use. By immersing each lens in a uniquely formulated coating solution, we enhance the lenses without affecting their polarization, photochromic properties, or refractive index.
Inspection to ensure the quality of outgoing products
This crucial process involves checking the finished lenses from all angles. Using both human inspection and specialized equipment, we comprehensively examine the lenses for precision, strength, scratches, chips, and overall appearance. Only the lenses that pass this thorough inspection are shipped worldwide.
